Hydrocodone Uses And Side Effects

Hydrocodone is a controlled, scheduled II substance that comes from a group of drugs called opioids. This medication is mostly prescribed for the treatment of moderate to severe pain when no other non-opioid medication works. It is booked under scheduled subatmces because it comes with its own risk if not taken carefully.

How Does Hydrocodone Work? Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid analgesic that acts by binding to opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord, altering the perception of the body and its response to pain. Acetaminophen acts by blocking a specific enzyme that participates in the synthesis of pain-producing chemicals. The interaction is synergistic to provide pain relief and is typically prescribed post-surgery, trauma, or for long-term management of chronic pain in opioid-tolerant patients. Some Of The Common and Some Major Side Effects Of Hydrocodone Are: Although Hydrocodone has some good effects in relieving pain, it also has some unwanted side effects. Some of the common side effects that move away as your body adjusts to the medicine are: Constipation Dizziness Drowsiness Nausea or Vomiting Headache Stomach Pain

Some Of The Major Side Effects That require a visit to a doctor as soon as possible are: Severe Allergic Problem Swollen Lymph Nodes Itching/ Rashes All Over The Body Breathing Problems Sudden Changes In Heartbeats Joint Pain Stomach Pains, etc. These are some of the side effects mentioned here, but some are not present here.
